The 2940UW works pretty well, but it seems to lock up 1-2 times a year, 
depending on use patterns. I've had about 6 of these cards over time, with 
several different levels of firmaware and they have all behaved about the 
same way for me. The problems would most often occur during the wee hours of
the morning when backups are running, which made them especially annoying. 
I can't say if my experience is typical though.

I agree with Andy about qlogic. All my important servers which use scsi now
use qlogic cards. The isp driver has been pretty solid over the last three years
with every version of NetBSD I've thrown at it.

When last I compared the qlogic and adapter cards about three years ago, 
the isp driver seems to offer slightly lower performance [-10%] than the adaptec, 
but I'd rather have the stability.
