Thanks for the tip, but I already tried that and it didn't work :(

FWIW, I've also tried to set TargetRefresh=85Hz, UsePreferredMode=no in
the monitor section and even IgnoreEDID=yes in the card's one, and it
seems to completely ignore my settings (it always picks the reported
EDID mode, which is 1024x768@75Hz.  Oh, BTW, I also tried to replace all
occurrences of 1024x768 in the config file to 1024x768@85Hz with no luck
either.

As a temporary solution, I've changed the resolution through GNOME's
configuration panel, but I don't like this...
