Hi all,
[please CC any replies to me as I'm not subscribed to the list]
I've updated a rather old NetBSD 3.0_BETA installation to one built from
today's sources. During the process, XFree86 got updated from 4.4.0 to
4.5.0, and now I only get 1024x768@75Hz, while I got 1024x768@85Hz
before the update. I need to go back to 85Hz because 75Hz bother me a
lot, really.
As I can see in the new XFree86.0.log, it's detecting all the supported
rates at 1024x768 correctly:
(**) RADEON(0): *Preferred EDID mode "1024x768": 78.8 MHz, 60.0 kHz,
75.0 Hz
(II) RADEON(0): Modeline "1024x768" 78.75 1024 1040 1136 1312 768
769 772 800
(**) RADEON(0): Default mode "1024x768": 94.5 MHz, 68.7 kHz, 85.0 Hz
(II) RADEON(0): Modeline "1024x768" 94.50 1024 1072 1168 1376 768
769 772 808 +hsync +vsync
(**) RADEON(0): Default mode "1024x768": 78.8 MHz, 60.1 kHz, 75.1 Hz
(II) RADEON(0): Modeline "1024x768" 78.80 1024 1040 1136 1312 768
769 772 800 +hsync +vsync
(**) RADEON(0): Default mode "1024x768": 75.0 MHz, 56.5 kHz, 70.1 Hz
(II) RADEON(0): Modeline "1024x768" 75.00 1024 1048 1184 1328 768
771 777 806 -hsync -vsync
[... some more with lower rates ...]
Notice the second mode line, the one with the highest rates. As I can
see in the previous log file, it used that mode. But now, it's using
the first one. The old file does not say "Preferred EDID mode"
anywhere, so I suspect this has something to do.
Does anybody have a clue about what's happening and how can I fix it?
Thanks,
