actually I think I need to correct myself...  I think the command was more 
like '/usr/bin/make update'

and the message block I got was like this...

=> Unwrapping files-to-be-installed.
===> Installing for atk-1.9.1
===> atk-1.9.0 is already installed - perhaps an older version?
*** If so, you may use either of:
***  - "pkg_delete atk-1.9.0" and "/usr/bin/make reinstall" to upgrade 
properly
***  - "/usr/bin/make update" to rebuild the package and all of its 
dependencies
***  - "/usr/bin/make replace" to replace only the package without 
re-linking
***    dependencies, risking various problems.
*** Error code 1

I got the above because I tried to upgrade gnome to 2.10.0 from pkgsrc.
When I give the command 'pkg_delete atk-1.9.0' I get a long list of 
dependencies, but I don't want to delete everything just to upgrade/update 
an application.

And as I said before, it's installing Koffice-1.3.5 a 2nd time.  Why?
