Last I checked, NetBSD's dump is not immune to this problem.
I think that filesystem snapshots could help, but I don't fully
understand them. For example, will they be integrated with
applications, so you could tell PostgreSQL to "get its house in order"
and keep it that way until a filesystem snapshot is created?
