Hi,
I have an application (Mathematica) that seems to be unable to connect
to a remote host. When it starts up, it should try to contact a network
license server, but it fails with the error
Cannot get "tcp" protocol entry.
So it seems as if there was a problem with the linux version of
getprotobyname, but I can't figure out what to do about it.
These two links show a similar problem:
http://mathforum.org/epigone/comp.soft-sys.math.mathematica/fandtarskou
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D89111
but they're not related to NetBSD. The same installation of Mathematica
on a Linux machine works just fine, so it does seem like it's a problem
with our emulation.
I have:
$ pkg_info -e 'suse*'
suse_base-9.1nb3
suse_compat-9.1
suse_expat-9.1nb1
suse_fontconfig-9.1
suse_gtk-9.1
suse_x11-9.1nb1
suse_freetype2-9.1
suse_openmotif-9.1nb1
$=20
Any ideas?
