Hi,
My DELL workstation has a really weird console behaviour (X is OK).
When it boot it starts to show kernel messages then nothing, till about the first /etc/rc.d/* starts.
Not all messages are displayed, sometimes it starts from the bottom of the screen (like tail -f) sometimes it starts from the middle, ...
I just can't do anything on console... In fact, I can do everything except I must do it blindly =)
There was no problem during the install process though.
Hardware is:
vga1 at pci0 dev 2 function 0: vendor 0x8086 product 0x2572 (rev. 0x02) < which is Intel 82865G
wsdisplay0 at vga1 kbdmux 1: console (80x25, vt100 emulation)
monitor is DELL UltraSharp 1703FP
there is no such problem with a standard CRT.
any ideas ?
any tweaks in the kernel to correct this ?
TIA,
