time_t still 32 bits on many platforms (and I *think* many programs assume 
sizeof(int) == sizeof(time_t), thus  will break if someone moves that to 
64 bit).

Hm. What's our "official" statement/plans concerning the time_t problem 
(if there is/are any)? It's been quiet about that during the last years.
