Evolution is probably the best bet for a Windows user who is most
familiar with Outlook/Outlook Express.  I've been using it for a couple
of years now for work email, both in IMAP mode and with the Exchange
connector.  I'm still on version 1.4.something but I understand 2.0 is
out and probably offers even more features/look & feel that Windows
users are expecting.  As far as the KDE v GNOME question, of the two,
I've always preferred KDE.
