Hello, everyone!
I've been having some problems with getting my networking up and
running. I am in a dorm at NC state university, so naturally i use
DHCP. When i run "dhclient wm0" it does it's thing and i get an ip
address of 65.165.204.7 or something to that effect, it changes every
now and then. That's a correct address for our building but, i cant ftp
anything so all my attempts to install new packages are futile. It says
"no address for that hostname" What i think is happening is that DNS
isnt working, because i pinged a friends computer by his IP address, but
i cant ping something like www.google.com. I thought DHCP was supposed
to take care of everything? I know everything is set up right because
when i reboot into linux it has the same IP address and i can browse the
internet and download until i'm blue in the face. Any ideas would be
appreciated! I have NetBSD 1.6.2 and an intel pro/1000 mt network adapter.
Thanks
John Hunt
