hi,

as i have the same or a similar problem, i put this thread on  
port-macppc also.

i'm running -current on a Power Mac G4 with a Radeon 9000 Pro gfx card.

X runs very well :) but when i exit, the signal from the gfx board is  
out of sync (i run a very high-end monitor, it's a 22" LaCie with  
Mitsubishi Diamondtron etc etc, 31 - 135kHz) -- the monitor reports  
horizontal freq's of about 250kHz and above.

not knowing whether this may be exactly true, if i get back to X (i.e.,  
keyboard input is okay), everything runs quite well again.

seems to be similar...

help is very much appreciated -- tia!
