Subject: emul_linux, NFS and amd 'xlatecookie' in netbsd-1-6

Hi,
we are running Matlab in a lab from an NFS server - both the binaries
and the users' home directories are mounted via amd(8).
When I moved the NFS shares from a linux 2.4.x machine to a NetBSD 2
setup, I found that I needed to supply an amd option for NFS cookie
translation ('xlatecookie'). This is discussed in PR bin/17245
(closed) which also mentions a pull-up to netbsd-1-6.
Unfortunately, despite adding 'xlatecookie' to the amd maps, Matlab
fails on NetBSD 1.6.2 machines with the same symptoms as without the
option, whereas with the same maps (local files as well as NIS maps)
it works fine on NetBSD 2.0 machines. It would seem that the changes
pulled up to the netbsd-1-6 branch are not complete.
Can any amd(8) users out there confirm the situation, before I go and
open a PR?
My easy way out ATM seems to simply move all the lab machines to 2.0,
but it would be nice to have a consistent amd setup on all the
supported NetBSD releases.
