ok, i'm building it now... but i also found precompiled binaries of
4.4.0 on releng... i'm just wondering what is the correct procedure of
update with these precompiled sets.

i unpacked them to temporary location. it produced usr and etc
directories. should i just (after backup of original /usr/X11R6) copy
usr/X11R6 and usr/libdata over the same directories in /usr? and what
about contents of directory etc (fonts and mtree)? should i also write
over the existing directories? i can see that mtree can be used for
comparing directory over some specification - should i then run mtree
with these files?

regards,
