Subject: CVS allocating more than 3 Gigs of memory during commit

When performing a cvs commit on a 10 MB file (repository file is 40 MB) 
I get this error:

Anyone knows what could cause this?

System: NetBSD 2.0_BETA from releng June 14th (CVS:  1.11.16)
