Nice suggestion, but unfortunately splint is GNU licensed, while our current
lint isn't.
(as you probably know, a very high issue on the NetBSD source TODO list is =
to
 keep as much GPL code out of userland as possible.  See src/doc/TODO)

Perhaps someone who has the time to do so (you?) could add security checks =
to
the existing NetBSD lint, if the core team agrees.  IMHO not a bad idea at =
all.
