Further to this, ifconfig -m shows this :

cccfw: {23} ifconfig -m sip0
sip0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
         address: 00:0d:61:91:96:84
         media: Ethernet none (none)
         supported Ethernet media:
                 media none
         inet 192.168.0.55 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.0.255
         inet6 fe80::20d:61ff:fe91:9684%sip0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x1

"media none"?!

I'm guessing this is my problem here, but why would that be the
case? Is this an ethernet device that 1.6.2 doesn't support?
