Hello, 

I have smashed my X installation. I had fiddled with fc-cache.
Xterm runs fine but tkdiff and gkrellm fail.

tkdiff:
X Error of failed request:  82
  Major opcode of failed request:  45 (X_OpenFont)
  Serial number of failed request:  57
  Current serial number in output stream:  58

gkrellm:
Gdk-ERROR **: 82
  serial 55 error_code 82 request_code 45 minor_code 0


Can this easily be fixed or should I reinstall X?
Is it sufficient to extract the X tarball?
(I have a working XF86Config.)
