Hi all,

i have been trying to set up my netbsd 1.6.1 for a couple of weeks
with no luck. Netbsd fails to recognize the master on the primary
channel. It says something like: disabling primary channel, no disks
available. I built a current kernel a few weeks ago, but ist doesn't
help either. I played with the harddisk jumpers and with the BIOS of the
mainboard. The 1.6.1 Kernel does sometimes see the disk but then it
hangs a few seconds while trying to mount the root file system:

Kernelized RAIDframe activated
pciide0:0:0: not ready, st=0x00, err=0x00
wd0d: device timeout reading fsbn 0 (wd0 bn 0; cn 0 tn 0 sn 0), retrying
pciide0:0:0: not ready, st=0x00, err=0x00
wd0d: device timeout reading fsbn 0 (wd0 bn 0; cn 0 tn 0 sn 0), retrying
pciide0:0:0: not ready, st=0x00, err=0x00
wd0d: device timeout reading fsbn 0 (wd0 bn 0; cn 0 tn 0 sn 0), retrying
wd0: soft error (corrected)

then it boots from wd0.

My NetBSD system at work works without any problems (of course with
different hardware).

I had been a little bit disappointed and have left it
aside, but since i really want get the system running i am seeking
help now.
I'm not a kernel programmer to find something myself in the sources.
Below is a dmesg, i hope that anyone has a suggestion.

Thanks in advance,

Ertan
