Yes, that's exactly what I'm seeing -- along with attrociously high CPU use.

I tried building and installing firefox-gtk2-0.8 last night and it's
much better in many respects than mozilla-gtk2-1.6 (including doing a
rather amazing job with my sparse 8-bit colour map, since the '-install'
option doesn't seem to work for it, than mozilla-gtk2-1.6 does with its
own colour map).  However it still uses about the same amount of CPU as
mozilla and it's only slightly faster at accepting typed characters and
displaying them.  It's only just barely usable, and that's probably only
because I have far more patience for slow computers than I should have
for my comparably speedy alpha.  :-)

I picked up a pixelvision card the other day that I should stuff into
the machine so I can see how it behaves on the local display too.  First
though I should investigate whether or not my spare NCD 19c monitor can
be connected to that card or not though as it's the best spare monitor I
have available at the moment that's not limited to old VGA outputs.
