Hi lex.
Had have some problems with X under NetBSD too, solved it finally ;).
I installed pkgsrc and X-sources and recompiled X.
It runs without any problems on my 1.6.1 system ( i386 ).
pkgsrc is documentated at http://www.NetBSD.org/Documentation/ , but
I don't know where to download the xserver sources, are they in pkgsrc, too ?
Whatever, hope that helped,
