hi,

i recall having something similar problems... i solved it by defining 
MANPATH in /etc/profile manually. don't know whether this is the "clear" 
way, but it works...

export MANPATH=/usr/local/man:/usr/share/man:/usr/pkg/man:/isr/X11R6/man
