Absolutely not. Cheap and fine. In contrast to more expensive Creative
cards, this one doesn't resample SPDIF-IO to 48kHz allowing bit identical
copies - which is the very basis feature of SPDIF. There's a long-standing
PR kern/16047 and the solution PR kern/16817 but you're problem sounds
completely different. You might give a try though and maybe make sure
the IRQ for the card isn't shared with something.
