From my perspective as a user of -current, #2 and #3 are in decent 
shape.  Note that I'm *not* a developer of these things, and I'm only 
using i386.  But I've had no scheduler activation problems for several 
weeks, and I used to have several a day, nor have I had any gcc 
problems.
