Hello,
I can't get my wlan configuration working. I have a Sony Vaio running
NetBSD 1.6.1 and a Compaq WL100. If I set up everything, the card
starts scanning, but it can't get a link. I have set up the ssid and
channel right, and the same laptop with linux can connect to the
access point. I read the wlan-faq and have brought several other
machines with netbsd on the network (also this laptop wich a pcmcia
ethernet card, after all experiments with wlan), so I don't know what
else I could do.
Here's how the card is detected:
Sep 28 16:24:14 /netbsd: wi0 at pcmcia0 function 0: Compaq, WL100_11Mbps_Wireless_PC_Card, Version 01.00
Sep 28 16:24:14 /netbsd: wi0: port 0x400-0x43f
Sep 28 16:24:16 /netbsd: pcmcia0: card irq 5
Sep 28 16:24:16 /netbsd: 802.11 address 00:50:8b:d0:f8:85
Sep 28 16:24:16 /netbsd: wi0: using RF:PRISM2 MAC:HFA3841 CARD:HWB3163 rev.A
Sep 28 16:24:16 /netbsd: wi0: Intersil Firmware: Primary (0.3.0), Station (0.8.0)
Thats in the ifconfig.wi0 file (but I did configure everything
manually also):
# cat ifcon*
!/usr/sbin/wiconfig wi0 -c 0
!/usr/sbin/wiconfig wi0 nwid YukonH00
!/usr/sbin/wiconfig wi0 -e 0
!/usr/sbin/wiconfig wi0 -t 3
!/usr/sbin/wiconfig wi0 -p 1
!/usr/sbin/wiconfig wi0 -f 11
inet 192.168.1.46 netmask 255.255.255.0 media DS11 nwid YukonH00
That's the output of wiconfig, my comments are enclosed in <> :

Do you have any idea, what else I could do/check/fix?
