I use a USB<->parallel adapter to drive a laser printer.  Works nicely,
and has since the 1.5 days.  (Maybe 1.4?)  I'm using 1.6, now.


As for Epson printers and GhostScript, I don't know the Epson 80C,
but have driven an 8-pin and 24-pin dot matrix Epson printer.
(MX-80, I think, and the LQ-850.) I do seem to recall having to
try a few variations to get the 8-pin printer to come out right.
In those cases, I was actually using a real parallel port.  (^&
