A week ago, I posted a question about upgrading using sysinst. The
subject was 'Upgrade question using sysinst'. I waited a week, messed
around trying to find the solution, and am now reposting the same
question in hopes that someone can answer it this time. Let me know I
should add any further information.
After booting my system with my two newly minted boot floppies:
boot1.fs and boot2.fs, I run into trouble upgrading in sysinst.
I have the necessary tgz's in
/usr/src/release/binary/sets
When I get to the point of choosing the destination of the binary
sets, I have tried two different approaches:
1) Upgrade from a directory that is local
I specified
/usr/src/release/binary/sets
and the installer told me that wasn't a directory. Entirely possible
if the appopriate partition of my drive wasn't mounted at the time,
/dev/wd0f, with /usr/src
as the mount point.
2) Upgrade from a filesystem that isn't mounted
I specified wd0f and wd0 as the devices, with the filesystem FFS. I
specified each of the following as directories at one point:
/release/binary/sets
/mnt/release/binary/sets
/usr/src/release/binary/sets
Nothing has worked. The error is either that what I enter isn't a
directory or that sysinst couldn't mount the specified directory. I'm
sure I'm missing some magic here. Could someone tell me the proper
incantation?
