Get a hard-disk that uses a fluid instead of ball
bearings. Those are removed and a thick fluid is
used instead, does almost no noise unless disk's head
is under heavy work (and when it happens you will
hear its tick-tick-tick but it's faint). The "AS" model
drivers from Quantum got this technology but perhaps
other brands offer models with ball-bearings removed.
