I use wget like this

$ wget -m -np ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/1.6.1

-m  = Mirror
-np = No parent (doesn't recurse down to ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD)

then flags -A and -R are cool also. -A.tgz will only download all "*.tgz*"
files. -R.tgz will not download those.
