Hello,

I'm trying to turn this somewhat old computer (PII 350Mhz) into a
firewall. I've tried about a dozen network cards, and each of them report
"can't map i/o space" or "can't map device registers" or "can't map
registers" during boot up. They don't show up on ifconfig -a either. I'm
sure all of the NICs I tried aren't defective, so I'm wondering what the
problem could be. I'm using 1.6 with the GENERIC kernel. I've tried
mostly ex, sip, tlp, rltk and epic cards. Is there a way I can fix this?
I know most (if not all) of these other cards work fine on a 1.6G system I
have.
