Hello Gravy,

/etc/wscons.conf

        ...seems to be a good place to start.  The wsfont and
wsfontload man pages also make interesting reading.  I was
able to easily set one of the virtual consoles to 80x50 with
an 8x8 font.  I like the way that wscons lets me set that up
individually for each screen.
