You can grab old pkgsrc by using the -D switch like:
cvs update -d -P -D "10 Sep 2001"
Use cvsweb to see the dates of the pkgsrc you are interested in.
(When you attempt to go back to normal CVS, use the -A switch to clear the
date.)
I think you will have more problems by going back in time. It will
probably be better to upgrade all your software. If you have any
particular issues with upgrading (using pkgsrc), be sure to ask.
