Maybe look under /var/log for an XFree86 log file and see what it says.

You can purchase NetBSD CD at a variety of places online. at the website,
click "how to get netbsd" and then click on CD-rom.

Or maybe you have a local Unix/open source users group or local NetBSD
user and some one can give you one.
