FYI--

continuing the mozilla-stable installation attempt, I got more GTK- and 
GDK-related errors, this time for missing header files (e.g. Xlib.h). I 
restarted with the install floppies, installed the additional netBSD 
installation set "X11 development tools," and that fixed the problem.
