I can't fathom the decision making at HP, jumping on Itanic.  

Likewise, H-DECpaqPee doing the same.

The Alpha is a real screamer, and supposedly they could turn out an
EV8 and other designs too.  The MIPS chips are very nice too, as well
as Power4.  You have to be frustrated by an industry that mainstreams
the crap instead of the good stuff.  So much for the market's decisions...

Souped up 4 register 8086 CPUs in 2002, sheesh...
