On a related note, what do I use to read the usr/src/distrib/notes/common
troff files?

-mandoc (and -mdoc) complains:
Usage .Bl -list-type [-width [string] | -compact | -offset [string]]

If I just use nroff without a macro, then I lose a lot of the formatting
(and maybe content).
