No, it is not.

An ethernet card and a DSL ethernet bridge (often called DSL modem) like the
Teledat 300 LAN (available with T-DSL from the German Telekom) will do fine.
NetBSD 1.6 comes with kernel PPPoE support required for such setups. For
NetBSD 1.5 you can use the "rp-pppoe" package from the package sources
which will need more system resources but work fine otherwise.
