hi,
i've experienced problem using the new version of Xwindows (4.2.0
shipped with NetBSD 1.6 on i386). the solution of this is probably very
simple but i cannot find it out...
i use /bin/ksh. i want the settings in my .profile to take effect in
every single xterm window (especially set -o vi line). it just worked in
the older version (it was something like XFree86 4.0.1 i guess) but
doesn't work any more - the settings work fine in the text console but
NOT in X - terminals.
i added ENV=$HOME/.kshrc to my profile and set -o vi into .kshrc, tried
also to add set -o vi in the .xinitrc, but with no results...
what surprises me is that ALL variables are set properly in the xterms.
of course i can do "set -o vi" in every single window and it works, but
it's not very comfortable... :o)
could anyone tell me what i'm doing bad? was there any major change in X
between versions 4.0.1 and 4.2.0?
thanx
