Are you sure it's connected to com0 ?
Maybe try:
moused -p /dev/tty00 -t microsoft

I ment to file a PR on this, but you also have to take care of the
plateform you are on with moused. On my hpcarm Jornada, moused would not
work unless it was compiled with '-fsigned-char'. There appear to be
issues with the code that was borrowed from Xfree86. The telling sign
that you are having trouble with this is that negative movement moves very
quickly in the opposite direction that you intended.
