IIRC the sectors are 64k and you only get about 80% of the capaicity.

For a variety of reasons (probably justified) a special 'udf' filesystem
is used.

There is also the little known issue that you can only 'mount'
a CDRW (for writing) IIRC 20 times.  This is because a small
patch (reserved in the leader) is destroyed while working out
the correct intensity for th laser, once these areas are all used
up the test can't be performed again and the drive (should not)
let you write to that media again.
