Can you try restarting the interface with a ifconfig up/down, which should
reset the hardware. This may keep you from having to reboot.

I have problems with mine, but they generally do not interfere with
operation. My biggest problem is that it does not work after coming back
from hibernation. I get a bunch of watchdog timeouts and no connection.

Subject: Problems with Realtek 8139C network Card

Hi All

Do anybody know what causes this network card to loose network connectivity.
After a while of network usage I cannot make a connection, and when I ping
the local IP address,
it says that the buffer is full. (Not the precise message, but similar)

After rebooting the system I can connect normally using this Network Card. I
have seen this
on a couple of systems, but don't know how to fix this.

Thanks
Jason
