No, I don't... I do know that with PasswordAuthentication set to yes,
the password is sent encrypted. The sshd manpage says, "Specifies
whether password authentication is allowed. The default is ``yes''."
However, if you do want to turn off password authentication, you can use
public key authentication instead... run "ssh-keygen -t rsa" on the
PowerBook, then add the contents of the ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub file to your
~/.ssh/authorized_keys2 file on the NetBSD side (create the file if it
doesn't exist).
