That's interesting. I and several other people have benchmarked our
-mv8 -mcpu=supersparc optimized openssl builds at 20-30 seconds for
110MHz SS5's.
I just did a test to a Linux workstation and it took 1 minute before I
was asked for the password.
Going from Linux to the other server, a 110Mhz SS5, takes about 30 seconds.
If you can get there in 17 seconds on an SS-1+, a lot of people would
love to know how.

I get that in a minute on my system. I obviously have a lot more
horsepower. On a workstation I have, it's under 3 seconds.
I have the default ssh configuration with the exception of using the
blowfish cipher, 512-bit keys, and an 8 hour cycle time for the keys.
