WEP is an absolutely awful encryption system, and if you're doing
*anything* you want to be secure on aWLAN, you need IPSec or at least
SSH forwarding....

Also microwave ovens can be a problem, but generally they make the network
slower, and only significantly if you sit either side of the microwave.
