I have a multi-boot machine using a AMD-K6 processor.

Perhaps , once a week , this processor starts hanging - creating grains

in the middle of the display - seems to be a case of over-heating.With this syndrome ,

the OS (NB : While this happens , I am invariably on Windoze , while the Unixen do not

have any problem with the processor at the same given point of time. The Unixen I am talking about

are Linux , et al. In fact these Unixes seem to rather solve the problem for Windoze ! )

I will tell you what lead me to this conclusion : when Windoze gets a beating from AMD , I re-booted to one or the other of the Unixes , and found them fine. Now when I re-booted to Windoze , after seeing that the Unixes are OK , on 2 occassions , I found that Windoze was OK.

Can somebody please guide me on this grudge that AMD K6 seems to have for Windoze ?

Regards,

Shyam
