ok, i compiled a new kernel as you said. wss0 is still probed.
FIrst, mixerctl -a only shows information related to input and record.

and second, playing a mp3 produces no sound.

(this is a Toshiba 220CDS. i looked at options in the bios, there is effectively something related to SoundBlaster, but also WSS)
