Isn't that a good reason to supply NetBSD with a shell with line editing and
command history?

Neither do I, that's over the top, and it's hardly appropriate for NetBSD.

It lists them as elmc0, ep0 and lo0, though, which brings us right back to the
poodle's kernel.
