What is the status of it?  For assorted reasons, I had to pull down all 
new 1.5.3 source for one of my machines; when I built a new kernel, of 
course my Ethernet card didn't work.  I'd forgotten about problem, but 
fortunately I'd saved a copy of my old source tree, and diff reminded 
me about it.

Is the fix good enough, and general enough, to put into the main source
tree?  It works well for me on my Dell Precision 410, but I don't have 
any other 3Com cards I can easily test against.
