Again, what _are_ you saying then?  The plain meaning of what you say is
pretty clear, as is the interpretation most readers have ascribed to it.

I have to admit I'm pretty stumped trying to find another
interpretation.  Maybe you'd care to fill me in?

Except that you didn't object to Mr. St.Hilaire's _topic_ (or to any of
the other posters on that subject.  You objected to his _position_.  And
I don't think that's a good idea.

But that's fine.  Continuing to carry on this way is even sillier than
the original thread had become...
