netbsd-users: Compiling PHP extensions as *.so instead of *.a

On NetBSD, I've not been able to get the PHP's extensions (MySQL,
PgSQL, gd, etc) to compile as loadable *.so instead of *.a. I see that
the package collection is able to accomplish this. Some of us have to
keep up with the latest PHP version for one reason or another. Anyone
know how that is done?
