The cable should cost about $6 at your local dealer. I never tried plip on
netbsd before, sorry. When you go for the slip solution try 'slattach -s
57600 -l /dev/tty00 && ifconfig sl0 && route add default' on the client and 'slattach -s 57600 -l /dev/tty00 && ifconfig sl0 && sysctl -w net.inet.ip.forwarding=1' on the server.
